National minimum standards for care services

At Pocklington, we are proud of the standards of care we provide.

The government has developed a rigorous framework to regulate the delivery of social care services in the UK. A set of National Minimum Standards (NMS) ensure that care provision is both fit for purpose, and meets the assessed needs of people using social care services. The standards provide important guidelines to help service providers, inspectors and service users judge the quality of service and care. The Care Quality Commission (CQC) is responsible for inspecting and reporting on care services against these standards.

The two areas of regulation that affect Pocklington are residential care and home care services. Our residential care homes have recently been inspected and received positive reports. Inspection reports are available to view or download on the CQC website.

Additionally, our residential care, home care, sheltered housing operations and community support services all work to quality assurance (QA) systems, which not only ensure we meet minimum statutory standards, but provide ‘best practice’ ways of working for the benefit of our service users.
