Our people

At Pocklington, we rely on people with enthusiasm, expertise and commitment to ensure that we meet the needs of our service users. Our staff, volunteers, senior management team and board of trustees all make a vital contribution to our work.

Our staff play a key role in delivering high-quality services. We encourage, value and support our staff, offering excellent terms and conditions of employment, and opportunities to gain new and specialist skills. To find out more about working for us, please visit our Work at Pocklington pages.

Equally, we recognise the vital contribution that our growing team of volunteers makes to our work. Volunteers allow us to provide additional services to our users, bringing new skills and perspectives, and promoting contact with the local communities we serve. To find out more about volunteering for us, please visit our Volunteer at Pocklington pages.

Our senior management team is responsible for the day-to-day management of the charity. Our Chief Executive, Ron Bramley, is supported by a team of five directors with responsibility for:

  • Operations
  • Research and development
  • Human resources
  • Finance
  • Property

Our Board of Trustees is responsible for overseeing the management and administration of the charity, both directly and through a committee structure (comprising a Finance Committee, a Services Committee, and a Research and Development Committee). Our current trustees are:

  • Rodney Powell (reappointed as Chairman March 2008)
  • Janet Lewis (reappointed August 2007)
  • Robert Perkins (reappointed August 2007)
  • Mervyn Williamson (appointed May 2006)
  • Alastair Chapman (appointed December 2008)

We promote equality and diversity in all areas of the organisation, and are proud to have received national employer accreditations, such as Investors in People, and Positive about Disabled People.
