I am the Birmingham Project Coordinator for the Engagement & Advocacy team at Thomas Pocklington Trust. Part of my role is assisting with the running and administration of the Birmingham Sight Loss Council. I have been working in the sight loss sector for over 5 years. Originally I managed the Black Country Talking Newspaper and I have also spent some time at Birmingham Vision. Prior to working for TPT I worked in local radio as a producer including a short stint at the BBC.
I feel the Birmingham Sight Loss Council is an important part of the sight loss sector in Birmingham as we can help with shaping services across a wide range of key policy areas. We are keen to gather views from people living with sight loss in the area and use those experiences to influence decision makers. The Birmingham Sight Loss Council is an exciting new venture and I am incredibly proud to be part of it.
