If you choose extra care sheltered housing, you will be living in your own self-contained home with your own front door, and you will have access to both care and support which will be available on site. There will also be communal facilities, such as a residents' lounge and a laundry, and usually there will also be a restaurant. Domestic support will also be available on site.
Extra care sheltered housing offers you the opportunity of retaining your independent lifestyle whilst giving you the reassurance of knowing that your personal care and support needs are capable of being met in your own home.

Pocklington Rise is a well established housing centre which has recently undergone a major redevelopment and now provides 76 one and two-bedroom apartments. The accommodation has been designed specifically for people aged over 50 with sight loss and the Centre is situated in Plympton, on the outskirts of Plymouth. One and two bedroom apartments built to the highest specifications and designed to the Lifetime Homes Standards - Special security features within the building and in all apartments

Pocklington Rise is situated in Plympton, on the outskirts of Plymouth. There is a regular bus service into Plymouth where there is a large range of shops and attractions. Charges at Pocklington Rise
Charges at Pocklington Rise are made up of rent, support charge and charges for heating, hot water and sewerage. The support charge will depend on your needs assessment. All other charges are fixed from 1 April each year.
You will only be eligible for housing with us if you also need some support. You may be eligible for benefits for rent and support charges. Staff will help you apply for these benefits when you are offered a flat.
All payments must be made monthly by standing order.

Becoming a resident
Applying to live at Pocklington Rise is easy. You can do this in a number of ways: - Apply by telephone on 01752 502400
Our staff will post you an application pack or will arrange a time to complete a form with you on the phone. Apply by email to Pocklington Rise
Our staff will email you an application form for you to complete and return by post direct to Pocklington Court. Email your completed form to pr@pocklington-trust.org.uk and our staff will contact you to arrange a time for a more detailed conversation.
Once we have made initial contact, staff will arrange to meet you to assess your needs. If your needs can be met by Pocklington Rise, you will be offered a flat (or a place on the waiting list if none are available). Our eligibility criteria are available on request.
The amount of support you need will be worked out with you when we offer you a flat. We know that many people need more support when they first move, so we will normally agree your support for six weeks and then review this with you. The amount you pay will depend on your support needs assessment.
