A Working Age Forum is being set up in the West Midlands where people with a visual impairment can network and receive information and advice.

The forum follows the successful Working Age Forum London Vision has been running in London.

The West Midlands Working Age Forum will be run by the Birmingham Sight Loss Council and will work in partnership with other organisations to deliver events, which will be followed by a social networking session.

Members of the forum will gain peer-to-peer support in a relaxed environment, helping them to feel less isolated and alone.

The forum will discuss themes which will mainly focus on Transport, Health, Education, Employment, Transition and Sport and Leisure services in the West Midlands.

Members will be have the opportunity to have open discussions and get advice from professionals who will be on hand to consult, as well as engage in an support local campaigns and projects.

The West Midlands Working Age Forum is being launched on Wednesday 25th April at Shoosmiths in Birmingham.

The first forum will focus on Employment, with one of the speakers being Steph Cutler, our Head of Employment.

The launch is from 6-8pm at Shoosmiths in Birmingham, 2 Colmore Square, 38 Colmore Circus Queensway, Birmingham B4 6BJ.
