Pocklington Place Open Day

Pocklington Place opens its doors to the local community on Thursday 16th June.

Pocklington Place, our extra care sheltered housing centre for people with sight loss in Northfield, Birmingham has recently achieved celebrity hub status and is celebrating by holding an Open Day for local residents on Thursday 16 June.

The hub will offer opportunities for people over the age of 50 from the surrounding area to participate in a wide range of activities, information, advice and support services. The Centre boasts an IT suite with broadband facilities, a hairdressing salon and a bistro restaurant, with activities ranging from reflexology sessions to a no-smoking clinic.

The Open Day is for people of all ages and will feature information on good eye health with the opportunity to use screening tools which indicate the need to attend for a formal eyesight test. There will also be entertainment during the day including guest speakers and stalls, a magician and live music. Refreshments will also be available.

So if you live in the Northfield area and are interested in finding out more about what the Pocklington Place community hub can do for you, come along between 10.00am and 4.00pm on Thursday 16th - there will be something for people of all ages, including children.
