Produced by a team of enthusiastic and experienced volunteers at our Balham Resource Centre, the Wandsworth Talking News is a free fortnightly round-up of Wandsworth and South London news, as well as articles of general interest. It also provides news of services, activities and events for visually impaired people.

We have recently changed the way we deliver this service to users so that they now have a USB stick (a small portable device which fits easily into a pocket or bag) which is inserted into a 'boom box'. This is a simple device which looks like a radio; it has only four buttons and will play the news as soon as the USB stick is inserted. The advantages of digital technology mean users can jump from track to track as well as pause and then re-start where you left off.
It really is very simple to use but if you don't believe us, or feel that the technology might get the better of you, just contact us and we will arrange to show you how to use it.
Anyone who has difficulty reading print is eligible to receive our Talking News and new listeners are always welcome, so why not contact our Balham Resource Centre on 0208 675 4246 and ask for more details.
