Counsel and Care: Sensory loss: If you can’t see and/or hear well, what help and support is available?

Counsel and Care has joined forces with Thomas Pocklington Trust and Sense to produce a new guide for older people with hearing, sight and dual-sensory loss.

Around one million older people in the UK are seriously affected by sight loss and many also have hearing loss. Too many of these people are in the dark about the resources that may support them. Sensory loss affects people’s independence and quality of life, often creating isolation and loneliness. At the same time as the number of older people is growing, older people’s wish – and need - to remain independent is increasing too, and being hampered by lack of information about what sight loss and hearing loss.

The guide can be freely downloaded from the Counsel and Care website.
