Support services
A key aim of our strategic plan is to support visually impaired people through provision of services they need and value. A wide range of support services is available through our two resource centres, and we are involved in a number of projects offering new services to people with sight loss.

Balham Resource CentreLocated in the heart of multi-cultural Balham, and serving the residents of Wandsworth, the Pocklington resource centre offers a variety of activities and services to people with sight loss.
Stourbridge Resource CentreLocated in Stourbridge in the West Midlands, the Pocklington resource and information centre offers a variety of activities and services to people with sight loss.
Our resource centres provide access to a range of opportunities for people with sight loss such as social activities, educational classes, vision rehabilitation assistance, and access to IT facilities. Additional services such as home visiting and befriending, drop-in services, and Talking News services are also provided by our dedicated team of staff and volunteers.
Our main aim is to provide social stimulation, encouragement and emotional support to those who need it, enabling those with sight loss to retain, regain and learn new life skills, and restore confidence and self-esteem. Our approach is flexible, and we respond to service users' needs and wishes wherever possible in the development and delivery of new services. Where possible, we also work in partnership with other agencies, leisure services and local colleges to help people with sight loss gain access to services and opportunities in the local community, including information, advice and support services.
