There has been much news coverage over the last couple of days regarding plans by the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) to review 1.6 million Personal Independence Payment cases.

What has not been clear is whether this is a full reassessment of all PIP cases or purely a response to a High Court case, which found that recent restrictions on PIP for certain people with mental health problems were unlawful.

We can now confirm that it is the second of these that is involved, so blind and partially sighted people should not generally be affected.
