“The House of Commons Work and Pensions Committee has today released the first volume of its report on assessments and decision-making around Personal Independence Payment (PIP) and Employment and Support Allowance (ESA) – PIP and ESA assessments: claimant experiences.

This report draws upon a record amount of evidence submitted to the inquiry. It tells claimants’ stories and strongly supports the evidence submitted by Thomas Pocklington Trust (TPT) in our joint submission with RNIB – evidence of far too much unacceptably poor quality in assessments and decision-making. The Committee’s second volume, setting out its recommendations, is due next week and TPT will be adding our voice to the call for change”.
