VISION 2020 UK (Charity No.1146746) is the umbrella organisation which leads collaboration and co-operation between organisations within the UK, which focus on vision impairment and operate on a national, regional or international basis.
VISION 2020 UK is a supporting member of the VISION 2020 Global Initiative.
To lead the collaboration of interested organisations in order to improve the eye health of the UK, prevent avoidable sight loss, and ensure inclusion and participation of people who have impaired vision in society.
People at the centre of all we do. We work with our members to improve the lives of people with eye health issues and sight loss, who are at the heart of what we do. We need to listen to people and be informed about their views, and work to ensure that others hear their voice.
Collaboration. We make a difference by bringing people together and fostering collaboration, both within our membership and further.
Quality. We aim to do it well the first time so that we do not waste time repeating things. Our work and recommendations are based on good evidence of effectiveness. Quality is not just what the organisation aspires to but also something to promote to our membership.
Independent and impartial. We should be seen as providing a place where differences within the eye health and or sight loss sector can be resolved.
Openness and transparency. We are fully accountable for our actions to people with eye health, sight loss problems and the public. Shared information is a key part of how we achieve this.
