Accountable to: Volunteer and Activities Coordinator
Accountable for: None
Function: To assist the Minibus Driver and staff members to escort service users on and off the minibus.
Key tasks: To help service users who attend the weekly 'Saturday Club' on and off the minibus. To collect the service users on Saturday mornings between 9am and 11am and to drop them home between 3pm and 5pm. To also assist occasionally when taking service users on other trips.
Key skills, experience and attributes required: Ability to understand the issues faced by individuals with sight loss. Non-judgemental and able to treat people with respect. Have an interest in supporting people in the community. Good sense of humour and be honest and trustworthy.
Special requirements: A willingness to work in an environment with guide dogs. Referneces and a Criminal Records Bureau Check are required for all volunteer roles.
