About this volunteer role
Accountable to: Volunteer Co-ordinator
Accountable for: None
Function: To support tenants to organise and facilitate the weekly film club which meets on a Monday afternoon and support service users with sight loss.
Key tasks: To support tenants in organising and facilitating each session, including setting up the room where the club meets and leading discussions. Contribute ideas towards the overall activities programme.
Key skills, experience and attributes required: Excellent organisational skills with the ability to work without close supervision where appropriate. Reliable, confident and responsible individuals, with enthusiasm and effective interpersonal skills. A good team player, with effective communication skills. Have an interest in working with people who have a variety of abilities. Must be sensitive and understanding of the needs of people with sight loss.
Special requirements: A willingness to work in an environment with guide dogs. References and a Criminal Records Bureau check will be required for all volunteer roles.
