Communications Manager – Sight Loss Councils

Full time permanent

Location: Working from home with travel to events and meetings

Salary: £34,500-£44,500

Closing date: Monday 2 May

Are you a communications professional keen to work with a charity that makes a real difference to the lives of blind and partially sighted people?

We have an exciting role in our small but perfectly formed communications team where you would be writing, editing, co-ordinating and publishing content across various channels, including the website, social media, print and online marketing materials.  You’ll be instrumental in the planning and delivery of communications strategies and campaign plans. You’ll create multi-media communication materials and analyse our traffic and engagement, inputting ideas and plans on how we can grow these.

The role is responsible for promoting the work of our Sight Loss Councils, working with the Head of Communications, Head of Engagement & Public Affairs and key internal stakeholders. You will also manage a Communications Co-ordinator.

You will need excellent written and verbal communication skills and be able to communicate in a clear, concise and engaging way for a variety of audiences and platforms.  You’ll  need some experience in digital content creation/management, such as videos and podcasts as well as experience in managing a small team.

It’s a role you can really get your teeth into! It’s varied. It’s fun and you get to work with nice people!

Thomas Pocklington Trust is a national charity dedicated to delivering positive change for blind and partially sighted people and, with almost half of our colleagues being either blind or partially sighted, it lives its values.  We therefore particularly welcome applications from blind and partially sighted people.
