TPT seeks two new trustees
Help us in our work to support blind and partially sighted people to live the life they want to lead
Thomas Pocklington Trust is a registered charity and our objective is to increase awareness and understanding of the needs and aspirations of blind and partially sighted people. We seek to do this by improving opportunities for engagement, education and employment for blind and visually impaired people.
We are looking to recruit two exceptional people to join our current trustee board of ten members in giving strategic direction to this important work.
Ideally, we’re looking for people with one or both of the following skills:
- Communications (knowledge of messaging including PR and social media as well as raising public awareness)
- Service Delivery (knowledge and expertise in developing and delivering services within the voluntary sector)
Watch Mervyn Williamson, Chair of Thomas Pocklington Trust, as he talks about his role as a trustee on the board. He shares what is involved in being a trustee and what he most likes about it.
An understanding of the not-for-profit sector, lived experience of sight loss and previous board/trustee experience is beneficial yet not essential and we welcome applications from everyone.
Our trustee board meets four times each year, although there is additional trustee involvement between meetings. The current term of office is three years.
Please send a CV with a covering letter outlining your experience and why you are interested in joining our board to firstname.lastname@example.org.
Deadline for applications: Tuesday 31 May
Travel expenses and childcare costs will be reimbursed. Please note that this is otherwise an unpaid position.
You will be given a full induction, mentoring and ongoing support. This is an opportunity to help shape and steer the work of Thomas Pocklington Trust. You will contribute to an impactful charity that is making a real difference to the lives of blind and partially sighted people.
