Sight Loss Councils Coordinator – Yorkshire and Humberside
Contract: Fixed-term (6 months)
Salary: £24,500 to £34,500 pa pro rata (we will be looking to appoint at Circa £25,500 pa, pro rata).
Location: home-based – requirement to attend meetings and events within the Yorkshire and Humberside region and occasional travel to London Office.

This new role in the team, will support the Engagement Manager for Yorkshire and Humberside . It’s an exciting role which will be working on establishing a third Sight Loss Council (SLC) in the region, through a six-month pilot programme. This will be testing out new ways of working with the SLC volunteers, developing new models of practice and establishing clear roles and responsibilities between the EM and the Coordinator posts.
The successful candidate will have experience of working with volunteers with a visual impairment or additional needs. They will have proven experience of developing and delivering social action projects and have supported with planning and delivering events. The ability to work collaboratively with other organisations to achieve their goals is key.

- Inclusive Communities
Challenges in accessing services under these areas continue to profoundly affect blind and partially sighted people in the UK.
We currently have 14 Sight Loss Councils across England, with plans to grow this reach even further, but to support this growth, we need to grow our team and infrastructure.
