PEOPLE can help East London Vision run an art project for visually impaired people by shopping at a Co-op store.

East London Vision (ELVis) has been selected to receive funding from this year’s Co-op Local Community Fund.

ELVis is a charity which aims to ensure that vision impaired people living in east London get the support and services they need.

Co-op members can choose ELVis as their local cause and every time they buy a Co-op branded product or service and use their Co-op membership card, one per cent of what they spend will be donated to ELVis.

Masuma Ali, ELVis Chief Executive, said the organisation would use the funding it received through the fund to organise an art project to give service users the opportunity to try out various art activities next year.

“But we need your help. The more support we get, the more funding we could receive and the more money we’ll be able to spend on providing opportunities for our members,” Masuma said.

The Co-op food stores supporting ELVis are:

Higham Hill Road, E17 5RG

Petrol Forest Road, Walthamstow, E17 4JD

Wood Street, E17 3HX

The Co-op funeral care branches supporting ELVis are:

Edmonton, N18 2JB

Tottenham, N17 0DH

The Local Community Fund will be open until March 18, 2017.
