Officers from national and local organisations across the UK attended the first Children, Young People and Family (CYPF) Officers Forum this week.

Set up by Thomas Pocklington Trust, this group will meet quarterly to share best practice, discuss problems experienced within the members’ roles working with children, young people and families, and explore solutions.

Key themes discussed were education, family support and returning to work for professionals. Members shared information around the CYPF services and needs within each local community and identified issues of common concern.

Donna Stephenson, Families Officer at Thomas Pocklington Trust, who leads the group said: “This group will maximise collaboration and opportunities for joint working, encouraging cross sector sharing of information and expertise on the issues raised.

“We have already received requests from other colleagues in the sector asking to attend the next forum”.

One of the attendees said: “This is another little nugget of gold that has come out of this new way of working! ‘I very much look forward to future sessions”.
