What the Student Voices have been doing

The Student Voices help to shape and support the work of the Education team, while also running their own projects. This has involved research; survey development; feeding into roundtables and consultations; producing blogs, articles and marketing materials, to name a few examples. Keep reading to find out more about some of the projects the group has taken on.

Disabled Students’ Allowance (DSA)

DSA is important to the Student Voices and is currently their key campaign area. Their experiences of DSA varied – some had positive experiences and felt listened to, well informed and pleased with the support provided. Others experienced issues either during the application process or with the delivery of support.

All agree that it is an important grant that enables students to engage with their studies.

Student Voices DSA survey

The volunteers are keen to hear from students about their experiences of DSA. Please take a moment to complete this short survey. Your feedback will help the student voices to shape their DSA campaign. You can also enter our prize draw to win a £50 Amazon gift card for taking part!

Roundtable meeting with Lord Chris Holmes

A number of the Student Voices also met with Lord Chris Holmes, to feed into a review he is carrying out on DSA. Read their blog here.
